PSS at the United Methodist Church

On Friday, February 5th, 2006 The Prabhupada Sankirtan Society, Oregon was invited to present the Hare Krishna movement at 9:30AM in the United Methodist Church of Sweet Home, Oregon. About 25 members of the church participated in the transcendental program.

After an introductory talk by His Holiness Kapindra Swami explaining the Maha Mantra and the position of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada devotees and Christians chanted along with Srila Prabhupada. Then we heard Srila Prabhupada speaking on Srimad Bhagavatam 1.5.11 about the importance of scripture and bona fide hearing.

His Holiness Kapindra Swami elaborated on the connection of Lord Jesus Christ and Lord Srila Prabhupada: about Lord Jesus Christ's instruction "hallowed be Thy name " and how Srila Prabhupada fullfilled Lord Caitanya's prophecy that the holy name will be heard in every town and every village. Also, he explained how Srila Prabhupada was the Advocate Lord Jesus Christ spoke about when he said that the Advocate will "speak all the Truth". It was Srila Prabhupada who revealed the Supreme Absolute Truth, Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead to all people throughout the entire world. In other words he spoke 'all the Truth'. Kapindra Swami continued to explain that it was Srila Prabhupada who also fulfilled the Vedic prophecy in the Srimad Bhagavatam 1.5.11, that a revolution would take place in the life of a misdirected civilization, based on knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna , His name, fame, form and pastimes as presented in the Srimad Bhagavatam. Kapindra Swami answered their questions in line with sastra ( scripture ) and guru in the parampara method.

People took interest. The devotees set up a nice booktable and people were coming up and purchasing litrature as well as Srila Prabhupada's lecture CD's. His Holiness Kapindra Swami, Caitanya Prabhu and his wife Jayasri Gaurangi devi dasi as well as Jerad prabhu worked cooperatively and enthusiastically to help push on Srila Prabhupada's original ISKCON mission. The Christian chrurch was transformed for more than an hour into the spiritual kingdom: with a lifesize picture of Srila Prabhupada, a huge pictuture of the spiritual world from the original Bhagavatam cover and original pictures from the Bhagavad-gita As It Is, Tompkins Square Park, plus a booktable, transcendental sound. When the prasadam was served- fruit salad, laddus and strawberry nectar- more people came out from the choir rehearsal to take part in honoring the Lord's remnants.
